For successful business it is vital to be able to communicate his thoughts and ideas effectively, using the whole potential of a professional PowerPoint presentation. To value best your presentation skills an effective presentation has to respect few basic rules:

  • Choose for your PowerPoint presentation the right information, include only necessary data
  • Presentation slides should be self evident
  • Don't overcrowd the PowerPoint slides with text or data
  • Practice your presentation
  • Speak comfortably and clearly, talk to your audience
  • Enjoy your presentation

Effective Presentation - Structure

  • Sequence your PowerPoint presentation
  • Graduate the presentation content until the main point of the presentation (emphasis)
  • Present information graphically, but no more than two graphs per PowerPoint slide
  • Graphs should show not much detail

Effective Presentation - Layout

  • Use professional PowerPoint templates to get well identified by your corporate clients
  • Avoid default Microsoft office templates
  • Limit use of colors (stick to your corporate identity)
  • Don't use more than two different fonts per PowerPoint slide
  • Use the same group of fonts allover the presentation
  • Words written in capital letters are hard to read
  • Use system fonts
  • If your PowerPoint presentation is supposed to be used for printouts avoid dark backgrounds
